Wind, Wind and more Wind!

Today I cut my ride a little short as I had things to take care of. The winds were very strong and I had a little bit of a time maintaining my speed.

Great day for a ride even with the strong head winds.

I rode my usual route through the streets, hope soon to know my way around the local country roads.

Great ride on a windy day.

Rode my local route today, with just a few windy spots. I did figure out why I couldn't get up to my speeds of last season. The reason is all these roads here are chipseal.

Great ride on a nice day.

I rode for the first time in a long while do to poor weather, and it was nice getting out. The wind was strong as it usually is around here but I didn't care. I ordered a Garmin Vivoifit watch for my walking.

Nice ride but strong wind

When I moved from South Brunswick, I thought that the winds here in Monroe Township would be a little lighter, but am I very much surprised at how strong the winds here are! So far the lightest winds I have encountered on a ride was 11 mph which is far greater than my old route. Oh well I just have to work that much harder to maintain my speed. I truly need the workout. My back pain is so much less when I ride than when I lay off for a while.

Beautiful day for a ride but very windy

Today was a beautiful day for a ride even with the strong winds. I rode over 10 miles so I feel good about my progress. Between my one or two walks of 1.88 miles each walk I feel I am getting a fair workout.

Short but nice ride, lots of wind.

Today was a catch up ride, as I haven't rode in a while do to bad weather and baby sitting. I feel like I go to feet forward and 6 feet back this riding season has not started off to well.

Nice ride for a hot and windy day!

T oday I broke my 10 miles which took me three rides. I have just not rode enough to keep the momentum going. I will continue working on it. I am desperate to get back into shape.

Short Local ride. lots of back pain!

T oday was a short ride just to keep in shape.  I wanted to go longer but my back is killing me and I am scheduled for a pain shot tomorrow morning.  Hopefully I will get back into shape soon.

Great day for a leisure ride.

Starting to settle in to the new home, and getting my way around the local streets. Today's ride was a little over 6 miles, but I am not going to push myself until I am back in shape.

First ride of the season

T oday I rode for the first time in a very long time. I am now in my new home and have not figured out the safest route yet, but I am working on it.  The roads are in bad shape no matter where you are on the East Coast so I can't complain.  I rode a short 6.1 miles and this ride was just to check out the trike. Had no problems other than my first leg cramp. I expected I was out of shape and I sure am. I think Garmin Connect is down as I am unable to get to my Dashboard to post the ride.. I guess I will update once Garmin fixes their problems, and gets their act together.

It has been a long time since I posted

I t has been a very long time since I have posted do to many reasons, mostly do to medication problems. Then we decided to put the house up for sale and move to a retirement community in Monroe Township, NJ.  Well the moving took up most of the hours of the day as we had to get the house ready for sale. Cleaning out years of junk and doing minor repairs. Then it came time to put the house up and that meant not having a riding schedule as the broker was calling to arrange for people to come and see the house.   We were told we would sell the house in a few weeks, at a price we felt was good, but weeks turned into months and we dropped the price of the house. A few weeks later a nice couple with two children gave us an offer and it was our asking price so we accepted.  Now the inspection came and a few items needed to be fixed. We rushed to find a home which we did but the owners were renting it so we had to give them time to move out, they wanted 6 months, but we told...

Why I haven't posted!

In the early spring I put my home up for sale and started looking for a new place to live. It has been nothing but a nightmare. After one deal feel through to buy a home we finally found one we liked, but not as much as the first. Now we have the problem of selling our home, and that has turned into many sleepless nights and lots of anxiety. People want everything to be new when the house is 40 years old. They want it for a bargain price and they want a mini mansion for the price of a normal home. I am a total wreck, and have had no desire to ride yet alone do anything. I have done many stressful things in my life, but selling a home is the worst! If it doesn't sell soon, we will come up with an alternate plan, but I sure as hell am not going to give in to these bargain hunters. HGTV, Trulla and the company they merged with cause more problems as their pricing is usually a huge amount or more off. I hope this is resolved soon as I am at my wits end.

Conditions are improving, so ride today was more enjoyable.

My ride seemed easier and had only a short duration left leg cramp. I rode through it and I am now as good as new. I hope this is the end of the bad rides and I am looking forward to easier rides.

My strength is coming back!

After today's ride I have hope that my full strength will return. I rode over 10 miles and my average speed was about a mile under my normal. My legs are weak, but not painful and I feel pretty good.

Still having a hard time getting my legs back!

I did great last season from day one. But this season I have leg pain and weakness. My muscles seem fine no loss that I can see. I think it might be the change in my medication at the end of last season. I will ask the doctor. I won't change the medication as it is working for my PTSD. I also won't give up riding, as it is necessary for my well being.

Short ride today

Rode only a short distance do to leg cramps and weakness. I guess I have to work on my legs again.

I have been very busy getting my home ready for sale and have neglected my riding!

It seems like every waking hour is devoted to preparing the house for a possible buyer coming to view my home. I have spent endless hours cleaning out things that haven't seen the light of day in as many years as I have been living here. Also there are minor repairs that I have done, so riding was on the back burner. Many people have come to see the house, but so far no takers, I am not in a rush. Today I got a chance to ride as the broker took off and made no appointments for the weekend. My ride stats are below.
T his is my first ride of the season and I realize I am not Superman nor will I ever be.

My first ride in a long time!

This was my first ride in a long time. I was ill for a while and just wasn't able to be in the recumbent position. My Acid Reflux was out of control, but I think it is getting better now that I am off the medication that was causing many of my problems.
