Latest trike modifications

Image
I t has been a while since I have been able to get on the trike and ride do to my MRSR infection, but I now have a clean bill of health.  But I think the weather will still hold me back. I have the seat mounted and made a few modifications to the mounting mainly as a precaution to protect the Carbon fiber seat.  I mounted the seat in the following way. On the lower mount I placed a large fender washer over each mounting hole. Next on top of each fender washer I placed a 1 3/4" rubber Grommet with a smaller Grommet placed inside to reduce the inside diameter for the 8mm cap head screw. On top of that came another metal fender washer followed by a rubber washer. This raised the seat by 1/2" in the front but allowing more recline. On top of the seat first came a rubber washer then a fender washer. The screw had a plastic sleeve as thick as the Carbon fiber around the screw so when tightened the threads did not touch the seat. Below are photos of the mounts.

Long time since I have rode or posted.

T he weather hasn't been warm enough for me to ride, but the main problem started with a Sinus Infection. I was put on antibiotics but they didn't work so my GP took a nose culture that found MRSR, as you know this is very dangerous. So for the last 30 days or so I have been on two different Antibiotics and I take another culture on the 15th. I hope my nose will be clear by then. D uring this time I have spent days working on the trike adding a new seat, neck-rest, horn and headlight.  I also added a second Maxxon brake light and a taillight. The seat I added was a Volae Carbon Fiber seat which reduces the weight of the trike a bit.  The neck-rest is an made by ICE and it nice, but it needs a larger cushion. Or maybe time to get accustomed to it. I mounted it on large washers to spread the weight across a larger area and rubber washers between the metal washers to prevent cracking.  I also added PVC tubes in the screw holes to prevent the threads of the bolts rubbing the seat
