Hard ride, felt like I was standing still!

I expected a hot ride with a little wind, but I was in for a surprise.  The minute I left the driveway I felt the hot wind in my face, and which ever way I turned I felt the wind pushing against me.  My legs felt like they were filled with lead.  I felt in a funk and wanted to turn back, but I wasn't going to allow my head to rule!  I continued the ride, but ended with a little slower average speed. My stats are below. I hope my rides in the next few days are better.

Nice ride for a windy and hot day!

I rode my local route, but it was hot and very windy. The construction continues and the garbage on the road is much worse. I am zigging and zagging to avoid junk. But all in alll it was a nice ride. Now I will start my arm and upper body exercise.

First ride after days of bad weather.

I was so glad to get out on the trike for a ride after all this rain.  We have had nothing but bad rain and wind for days. The temps dropped to the low 40s at night. Today I started my ride after a 1/2 hour of upper body workout using dumbbells. I am beat.

Minor repairs and adjustments done, but no rides coming.

I completed the adjustments I needed and everything is working fine.  I needed a repair on my accessory arm as it came loose, but a little Epoxy fixed that, cleaning up after was more of a problem. Epoxy is a pain to work with. T here won't be any rides for the next few days as the weather is down right crazy. One minute it is sunny the next Thunder storms.

Great ride and broke my ride average speed.

T oday was my first ride in a number of days. It was either the weather or I was taking care of my grand kids. I installed two Jockey Wheels and had the derailleur adjusted and it seems to have made a difference. I increased my average speed by 1 mph. Not a lot, but a milestone either way. My stats are below.

Slight accident but a good ride anyway!

T oday I started out to do my local fitness route, and was forced off the road by a guy making a U-Turn in someones driveway.  As he was backing out he didn't look my direction and forced me up onto the curb hitting my rear derailleur. I know there is some damage so it will need a slight bend , but I will leave that to my LBS.  The driver looked at me and said why was I speeding down the road and riding such a stuppid bike. I told him the speed was 25mph and I was doing 12 mph and I have a bright flashing light, orange cloths and a 6 foot flag. When he realized I was going to take his plate he took off. I couldn't read the plate as he has one of those anti-camera covers. Oh well another lesson to learn from. My stats are below.

New route for todays ride.

I was planning on doing a route provided by Andrew Milstein, but the ride didn't go as planned.  I rode using the cue sheet, but one on the roads was not marked so I passed it by over a mile.  I knew where I was so I headed back using my own directions,  It did take me on a route with some heavy traffic, but it wasn't that bad.  I did get some leg cramps, but I pushed through the pain and finished the ride. My route is below.

Change in plans!

I planned to do my local training route, but the winds were extremely strong and I felt it wasn't worth the danger. The winds were blowing with variable gusts above 20 mph from every direction.  In the construction zones there was dust and small stones flying all over. So I took an alternate route which is shorter, but less prone to dust and dirt. My stats are below.

Strong winds and a very poor attitude!

My ridding attitude was non existent today.  All I do is think about Dylan and how I will not have him as a loving family member. I thought by riding I would be able to clear my head and build a positive attitude, but it only made it worse. He is getting more and more lethargic as the days pass, so how long he will be with us is only a guess. My riding stats are below.

Couldn't get my head into riding today!

M y cats illness is destroying my mood for everything including riding. He is not urinating at all, but he is as loveable as ever. The time is near, and we are very sick about it. My ride info for today is below.

Hard ride today do to the strong winds!

T oday was one of the hardest rides I have encountered in a long time. The winds were very strong and variable. The low wind speed was 12 mph and the high gusts were 22 mph.  The weather reports did not show this, but I have my own weather station which I find more accurate.  I rode my usual route and had to slow for some rough roads from construction, it never ends. W hen I went out to the garage this morning my rear tire was low again, so I pumped it up and rode.  While riding I looked for signs of a slow leak such as the Flat Attack sealant on the surface of the tire. Found none. I then thought maybe the valve stem is loose as I did remove it to install the sealant.  Sure enough it needed about two or three turns, I hope that is the problem.  I will know more in a day or so.  My ride stats are below.
