Adeo GPS Trainer has arrived.



This morning I installed the necessary audio wiring from the left bar-end to the rear of the seat, this way I can plug either the speakers into the jack or a headphone. If I decide to use headphones I will order the special ear cups that don't contact the ears and hang from my helmet allowing me to hear the traffic. These can be found at www.slipstreamz.com. and I don't plan to do this in the unsafe manner by just using straight headphones. I installed the holder for the Adeo on the inside of the left bar-end, and it looks real nice. My only concern is that the Adeo might not be able to receive a signal do to the metallic parts surrounding it. I was taken by surprise by the small size of the Adeo, it is 3" tall and 2" wide making for a aerodynamic shape. The Adeo will take anywhere from 4 to 6 hours to charge the battery, so testing it today will probably be out of the question.
On another subject! The new layout for the trike computers is very usable, but I plan to improve it with the addition of a bar-end at 90 degrees to the existing right bar-end and mounting the computer bracket on that. Once complete I will cover the bar-ends with handlebar foam grip material as I did on the left bar-end holding the Adeo. I will have to order additional foam grip material.

First ride of the season

This morning I took my first ride of the season I went the back roads to Etra Lake park and road the sandy trail, it isn't a suitable ride for a trike. There were areas that were so sandy that the tires just wouldn't grip so I was forced to ride the grass on the edge. I then left the park and road local roads back home. I then came home to meet my wife for a 2.5 mile walk. I had some bad leg cramps while riding but worked through them.

Major set back in my training!

Well the worst thing happened after stopping the medication for my Acid Reflux and starting a Homeopathic herbal system. I became extremely nauseous and totally sick. I got so bad I need a emergency shot of Tigan which didn't work, so I have been sick for days. I finally went back to my doctor who put me back on a Proton Pump Inhibitor which is the same type of medication I am trying to avoid as it is capable of causing bone fractures. During this period I was vomiting and pulled my back out so I can barely walk yet alone exercise or ride the trike. I feel totally out of control of the situation. It will take a few days and I will be back on track. The first thing I did was make an appointment with a different Gastro doctor for a second opinion, as I want to be off these dangerous medications. I will let you know how thing progress and hopefully get back to what this blog is about.

What's new and service report.

I won't be riding today as my back went out on me today after unloading the trike from the Santa Fe. It usually goes back to normal in a day or so. I am hoping it is back in by tomorrow as the weather looks very promising for a ride. Wednesday looks like there will be rain and another day of no riding. But I will wait it out. Thursday and Friday will not be riding days as my son David is going into the hospital for Crohns surgery. We are hoping that all goes well and he is out of the hospital this weekend. Most depends if his pain is tolerable and he is able to eat and clear his bowels. T his morning I intended to ride but while shifting gears my front dérailleurs cable snapped. Not sure what caused it but I loaded the trike in the Santa Fe and headed for Halters Cycle in South Brunswick for a quick repair.
